At-large voting systems can lead to unequal representation and force voters to make tradeoffs between the candidates they like for Mayor and Council.
In November 2025, Greenbelt voters overwhelmingly said YES to ranked choice voting. Now that voters passed RCV by 67% (a 2-to-1 margin!) the City Council needs to take action to implement RCV for 2027.
